Making Japanese vehicle imports clear enough to trust

AlexRia needed to turn an involved, high-value import service into a website that explains the process, sets honest expectations and makes the first step easy.

The site moves from services to example vehicles to a step-by-step process, with a WhatsApp inquiry available throughout.

Context

A high-trust purchase that mostly happens before delivery

AlexRia (Alex Ria Trading International) helps people in Sri Lanka import vehicles from Japan, from sourcing the right model at auction to clearing, registering and delivering it.

Importing a vehicle is a high-value, unfamiliar and paperwork-heavy decision. Most of the commitment happens before the car arrives, so the website had to make an involved process feel understandable and trustworthy, and turn interest into a real conversation.

The challenge

What the experience needed to make clearer

  • Explain a multi-step import process in plain language
  • Build trust for a high-value purchase made largely before delivery
  • Show example vehicles without promising fixed stock or prices
  • Serve buyers who prefer English or Sinhala
  • Make it easy to start an inquiry from a phone
  • Set honest expectations about cost, timing and responsibilities

The strategy

Structure the journey, then lower the effort of starting

The site is structured around the customer’s real journey rather than the company’s internal departments: what the service does, what it can look like, how it works step by step, and the questions people actually ask.

Pricing stays as “price on request”, and every point of interest opens a pre-filled WhatsApp message, so a conversation begins with context instead of a rigid checkout.

Important decisions

Structure before decoration

01

Process before product

A clear step-by-step import journey — sourcing, letter of credit, inspection, shipping, insurance, clearance, registration and delivery — is explained before individual vehicles, so buyers understand the service, not only the cars.

02

Price on request, on purpose

Vehicles are shown as examples with pricing confirmed per order, avoiding misleading fixed prices in a market where rates and specifications move.

03

WhatsApp as the front door

Model-specific, pre-filled WhatsApp inquiries make starting simple and match how buyers here already reach out.

04

Bilingual by design

English and Sinhala sit together so the service is clear to the widest local audience.

Delivered outcome

What the live experience now provides

  • A clear explanation of a complex Japan-to-Sri-Lanka import service
  • A structured Services, Vehicles, Process and FAQ journey
  • Example vehicles with honest price-on-request handling
  • One low-friction WhatsApp inquiry path carrying model context
  • Bilingual English and Sinhala content
  • Arrival-to-registration expectations set before a buyer commits
